RECHTSIDEE Journal, published by Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, is committed to the highest standards of ethics in academic publishing. This ethos is reflected in the conduct of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. Our guiding principles align with the COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Considerations for Journal Publishing
The publication of articles in the peer-reviewed RECHTSIDEE Journal is an integral component in the construction of a respected network of scholarly knowledge. The articles reflect the quality of the authors' work and their supporting institutions. As a peer-reviewed journal, we endorse the scientific method and expect ethical behaviour from all parties involved in the publication process.
Publisher’s Responsibilities
Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, as the publisher of RECHTSIDEE Journal, rigorously oversees all stages of the publishing process. We acknowledge our ethical obligations and other responsibilities, pledging that commercial factors such as advertising or reprint revenue will not influence editorial decisions. Additionally, we offer assistance with communications to other journals or publishers where necessary.
Editorial Responsibilities and Decision-Making
The editor of the RECHTSIDEE Journal is tasked with the final decision on the publication of submitted articles. This decision must be guided by the importance of the work and its relevance to researchers and readers. Compliance with legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism is mandatory.
Editors must adhere to principles of fair play, evaluating submissions based on intellectual content, and without bias concerning the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology. They are expected to maintain confidentiality about submitted manuscripts and avoid any conflicts of interest.
Reviewer’s Duties
Reviewers play a critical role in assisting the editor with decision-making and contributing to the improvement of submitted articles. They must maintain confidentiality, adhere to standards of objectivity, acknowledge relevant sources, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Author’s Responsibilities
Authors must provide accurate and original reports of their research, prepared in a manner that allows replication and verification by others. The authors should provide access to the raw data associated with their research whenever possible and retain such data for a reasonable time following publication.
Authors should ensure the originality of their work, cite influential sources, and restrict authorship to individuals who have significantly contributed to the research. All financial or other substantive conflicts of interest and all sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.
In case of significant errors or inaccuracies in published work, it is the author’s duty to promptly inform the journal editor or publisher and cooperate in the retraction or correction of the paper.
